The finals of the Over 55s Men's Triples Championship was held on Wednesday 14th September at Torquay Bowling Club. The winners of the V, W, X and Y divisions met to play for the championship.
The semi-finals saw Brixham defeat Shaldon and Bovey Tracy defeat Ipplepen.
The final saw a closely contested match between Brixham and Bovey Tracy, with Brixham coming out on top by 40 shots to 30.
The Brixham rinks comprised Rob Cann, Derek Saunders, David Hayden and David Moseby, Graeme Davies, Chris Dawes.

Thursday 1st September, saw 34 members of Brixham Bowling Club, departing for their annual tour, this time heading for Wales. Their first match was a 7 rink friendly at Yate Bowling Club, Near Bristol.
After a fabulous buffet lunch and a very enjoyable game and company, we headed for our hotel in Cardiff.
The Parc Hotel, (a Jury's Inn) was most accommodating and we settled in in no time, finishing off our day with an evening meal at 8.30pm. retiring to bed ready for our next game on the Friday.
Again, after a midday buffet, we enjoyed another game of bowls in lovely company at Cardiff Bowls Club, in Sophia Gardens.
On Saturday our next match at Beechwood Bowls Club, Newport, was rained off, resulting in a pleasant day, (with umbrellas) touring the shops and markets of Cardiff.
On Sunday we departed our hotel, heading for Chepstow, where we once again had a very pleasant afternoon of bowls with enjoyable company. We left Chepstow at 5pm heading home, but stopping at The Waterloo Cross Inn, at Uffculme, at 7pm for a very pleasant meal before returning to Brixham by 10pm.
A very enjoyable break for all concerned.

Sunday saw the Captain's Day Competition in full swing as the teams battled it out for the highest scoring Lady & Gent, starting at 2pm and ending around 5pm for a special presentation and high tea.
The Ladies winner was Dot Langford with 26 points and the Gents winner was David Hurford with 23 points.
The subsequent auction raised £1,000.20 for the Breast Cancer charity.

It was confirmed today that the Brixham Over 55s Triples team has won Division V of the league. We now go in to the finals to play the winners of the other three leagues in a knockout.

The Reed Trophy was contested on Saturday 13th August, being won by Janet Bolland, David Taylor and Mo Penhaligon. This was followed by a "Fish & Chip" tea, and talent night. It was a very enjoyable occasion. More details and photos to follow.

Brixham played their Annual 'Rose Bowl' match away to Brixham St Mary's, with a decisive win, retaining the cup for another year.
The evening finished with a fantastic supper, which was provided by the host club, "St Mary's".
Thanks were expressed to all by Brixham's Captain, David Bunney.
Brixham won 5 rinks out of 6.

On Sunday 24th July, Brixham held its annual Brixham Bodyworks cup mixed pairs competition, commencing at 10am and playing heats throughout the day, stopping for a buffet lunch at midday, (provided by Brixham Bodyworks) and continuing through until 6pm for the results and prizegiving. (The day being sponsored by Kathy and Mark Cook of Brixham Bodyworks).
The overall winners were; Mo Penhaligon and Bill Gray, with 6 points, plus 35 shots.
Mark Cook presented them with the Bodyworks cup (see photo).
The runners up were Linda Oakden and Mike Evans, with 6 points, plus 26 shots,
and in third place were Sally Hoare and David Bunney, with 6 points plus 21 shots.
Thanks were expressed to Kathy and Mark for their sponsorship and to Jenny and Roy Moore for organising the day, which went off without a hitch.

On July 9th the first Disability Bowls England National Open Pairs competition held in England took place at the Royal Leamington Spa Bowls Club.

Lynette Zadrazil partnered with Mike Birch of Kings BC, who she had previously met at a workshop for disabled players at Taunton Dean BC a few months ago. It was very interesting day and they came third in the event. Congratulations to Lynn (and Mike) on their achievement.
